How do I find a Family Day Care educator?Contact SAND CHILD CARE SERVICES on 0410 702 227 or via email to sandchildcare@gmail.com A service staff will help you find a suitable educator.

Can I contact the educator directly?Yes, you can. However, your child's enrolment will be an agreement between yourself and the servoce provider.

What is the cost of care for a day?The fees are set on an hourly basis by each educator under the service provider's guidance. The fees usually vary depending on the educator's experience, qualification, the location of the premises, level of activity and the demand for childcare in the area.

Is there any fee reduction?The educators will charge the same fee for each child in the same type of care. If you are eligible for the Government's fee assistance through Child Care Subsidies (CCS) then you only pay the gap fees between the full cost less CCS.

How much CCS will I get?Your CCS eligibility is determined by Centrelink based on your income and activity test. Please contact Centre. You can submit a Child Care Subsidy claim using your Centrelink online account through myGov.

How do I pay for the care?The payment is required in advance of two weeks of care (a fortnight). If your eligibility for Child Care Subsidies (CCS) is already assessed, an estimate of the gap fees for the permanent scheduled days will be calculated. You pay the service provider by way of iPay (direct debit) or EFT.

Do I have to pay fees for public holidays?If your child's permanent schedule falls on a public holiday and you would have otherwise attended care, you will be required to pay for that day.

Will I get an invoice?Yes, an invoice will be sent on a fortnightly basis in advance of care being provided. You will also receive a statement every fortnight with complete details of care provided in the preceding fortnight.

Will the educator provide transport from/to my home?Educators are not obligated to pick up or drop off your children at your home. However, most educators transport children between their home and a primary school or kindergarten.

How many days of absences are subsidised?You can utilise up to 42 days of absences in a financial year without providing any explanation.

Who do I talk to if I have a question or concern?Your child's enrolment is an agreement between you and the service provider. As such, you should direct your questions and concerns to the service provider.

What if my child doesn't settle in the educator's care?There can be many reasons for this. An orientation is essential and during which time transitional arrangements need to be discussed and you can follow up with the service provider should you have any concerns.

Do I have to provide an Immunisation History Statement?Yes. You are required to attach an up to date Immunisation History Statement to your child's enrolment and at least every six months as required under the No Jab No Play legislation.
